Netbook Reflection 2013

This is how the network has helped my learning this year

• I learnt how to post a blog.
• I learnt how to find information on wikipedia and other websites.
• I learnt how to join any competition online such as the New Zealand ASB math competition.
• My teacher Mr Ramkalawan taught me how to use E-asttle for all our tests.

 

   

The big Oak tree

In the Juniors playground at Glen Innes School they have a Oak tree. 50 years ago the oak tree was planted. It's older than the school that is there right now.

The tree grows acorns. It changes colours every season. In Spring the acorn starts off small with a green colour. In Summer they start to get bigger and turn brown. In Autumn they fall off the tree trunk and branches. In winter there are just leaves that fall off the oak tree slowly and turn brown and green at the same time. Then it goes in a rotation every year.

Two thing’s I don't like is that children used to throw acorns at other children and kids sometimes eat them.

But now at Glen Innes School children don't throw or eat the acorns.

Glen Innes School is happy that they have a big oak tree.

Melissa's Fractions

I have been learning about exciting fractions.
Today we learnt how to draw fraction shapes in the drawing program.
Sometimes it was hard getting all the
fractions the same size. So I had to watch carefully.

I am learning direct speech through cartoons. We had fun doing these cartoons. I hope we can create many more cartoons. 

Music Piano

I took a snap shot of the Music site I have been on when Mr.L was in our class. I practise with a Piano Online.

 

I found the work difficult because I wasn't used to the sounds of the keys.

The next thing I would like to learn is to play a popular song on any instrument.

Today I read this book, Online. It was written by Tony Bradman & Jon Stuart. 

I was learning to Identify and know why different text types are used.  

Abu Simbel Temple

Today Mrs Grant came to our class and taught us about editing photo's. This is a photo that I edited today. It looks like I "went" to Egypt and saw the Abu Simbel Temple.

This Is Me

                                                    

My name is Melissa. I was born in Green Lane Hospital in Auckland. I'm a NZ Kiwi and I am a Maori.

I'm 10 years old and I’m turning 11 soon. I have 7 brothers and I have one sister named Claudia. I am the youngest child in the family. I get treated like a little princess by my brothers and parents. I also have a puppy dog named Mini and a fish named Silver.

The food that I like to eat is chocolate, Mcdonald's, Fried rice, and also homemade pies. I often listen to music or watch TV.

My favourite colour is baby blue because it's a very bright colour and it reminds me about my favourite cousin Brooke. It also reminds me about swimming and swimming is one of the sports I love. I also love netball, rugby, softball, ripper rugby and touch.

In school my favorite subject is Math and P.E. I love Maths because i'm very good at it and I really want to be smart. Two other things in school I like is having a netbook and having friends. I love my netbook because it has made a lot of changes with the way I am learning. Now when I do writing my hands don't get tired.

I also like being with my best friends. My best friends are Siua, Lauren, Hilda-Rose, Angelina, Asiana, Maia. Having a friend for me is very friendly and kind. I see them everyday at school. I love my family and my friends.
